The flood of 1957, or the floods, why in fact were two, was a tragic event that changed the city of Valencia forever.
Why it occurred? Can it happen again? How peolpe lived those harrowing hours? Is the south plan that diverts the river Turia the best solution?
We try to think through these and other issues while we visited the most affected areas of the historic center, on both sides of the river. Also we cross the Barrio del Carmen where we discover signs that even remind us of the catastrophe.
